‘Earlier this year I found a Lebanon-based designer, Robert Abi Nader, online and asked him if I could have a couple of his dresses to wear at the Cannes Film Festival. He flew a guy to France to hand over two dresses. I wore one to the premiere of Blood Ties which nearly got me thrown off the red carpet.’
The UK press described it as ‘atrocious’ and a ‘new low’ for Lady Victoria. But for Robert Abi Nader – and Victoria – the publicity was a triumph that resulted in the designer inviting her to produce her own line under his name. ‘I met Robert in Paris and we really got on. We are super-excited about the collection we are working on now.’
